Trevor Bauer is a freak and a weird dude

Kinda sounds like bullshit, similar to the allegations against Puig.

If the chick was still flirting with him in text after that, and then suddenly became convinced she had a "concussion" and blamed him, it seems like she's looking to hit someone with deep pockets after experiencing an injury of some sort. It's even possible that this injury occurred after her time with Bauer, and he was a convenient target from which to extract $. It's also possible that they had consensual rough sex, and then she had nagging pain from it afterwards as a result, and decided to call it "assault".

Anyway, athletes like Bauer need to be careful with this stuff. Before having any kind of rough sex, they should establish a chain of text messages where it's clear the woman really wants it. He could easily get this done without the woman even knowing he's doing it to protect thimself... just bring up the subject, and let the woman talk about it. Can't be too cautious with this stuff these days, especially if you're rich and/or famous.

Can you legally punch someone causing bruising and such even if they tell you too?

Could you legally murder someone during sex if they asked you too do it?

That's a dumb question.

But yes, if I asked someone to punch me, and they could prove that I seriously asked them to punch me and meant it, they couldn't be in any trouble from the consequences. (If this weren't true, boxing would be illegal!)

If she asked Bauer to do something which he should have known would cause permanent harm to her (such as slamming her head against the bedpost), then there could be the claim that he acted with willful disregard for her safety. But the accusations here don't seem to match that, and in fact she saw him a second time after his first round of roughness was done to her.

Again, not the best look for him, and he was stupid to put himself in this position, but honestly this should be a non-story.
