And also not to get into a debate here but Tony Scott made (in arguably) at least 3 great movies and a lot more that were simply good.

Second, you're right that art is subjective, and I think it's funny that anyone would say he made three great movies. He made True Romance, which was great only until the last half hour and only because it was written by Quentin Tarrantino. "True Romance" was one of the 3, yeah. QT pretty much said that for the movie that was made he prefers the ending that Scott went with.
Also, have you seen "The Hunger" or "Revenge"? I know that you hate like 99% of Hollywood films but you might like those (and maybe even change your opinion of him).
