It blows my mind that they openly said this is about getting oil. That USA will be running Venezuela… that reason congress was not informed is that they couldn’t have leaks (trumps exact words), that they plan to move into other countries.

i dont think youre wrong per se but credentialed foreign analysts are freaking out because with the US in control of VZ reserves, we can keep the price below $50 a barrel, and thats represents an absolutely massive shift in power.

Venezuela oil is trash. It is very expensive to refine. The price of oil actually has to be kept high to make it worthwhile. Same for Canadian shale. And there would need to be massive up front investment in infrastructure to even start.

Ukraine has started directly attacking the Russian black fleet. And European countries are making noise they may start doing something similar. If you want to do a conspiracy along this line, the argument would be the US is taking control of Venezeula so their oil can actually be utilized (Venezuela does not have the technology or infrastructure to do so on anything but a tiny scale) to make up for any holes in the global petroleum supply if/when the Russian and Iran back fleet operations really get hit by US/Israel/Ukraine/Europe.

We just have to make sure nations like China and India (and Europe for that matter) can still get the petroleum they need for their economies to run.

yeah. But some things are just objectively nonsense and should be immediately discounted as RT propaganda.

Like saying the US would flood the world with Venezuelan crude to drop oil prices to below $50/barrel. That would immediately bankrupt any oil company operating in Venezuela, not even taking into account the billions and billions in infrastructure and logistics costs to even get started. I know we philosophically disagree on this. But great nations dominate small ones. That is just how the world works. Unless you think the world is better off in the hands of Iran, Russia and China there is no good reason to just abdicate control of the world to them. That is basically what Europe has done, and now Europe is basically done and can never even come back even if there was a will to do so (short of a Spanish Reconquista type operation) because of unchecked immigration and ethnic replacement from third worlders loyal to other nations.
