The unions and the various Hollywood guilds are out of control, and have been for a long time.

Both were overcorrections to onetime legitimate labor issues, but now both have gone the opposite direction.

UAW ruined the competitiveness of the American auto industry, causing the cars to become shit.

Hollywood's various organized labor groups slow down production and drive up costs of everything. With more and more entertainment options out there online, this is a dying model which is unsustainable. It's not 1975 anymore where your entire home entertainment option was the television or radio, and where movie theaters were a huge destination for families, teens, couples, and kids.

This is the circle of life. Certain jobs become obsolete and less essential, and others rise up in their place. It's a fool's errand to attempt to maintain the status quo.
