I'm surprised you think the special status should stay in place.

I'm not sure why this was done in 1967, but I can't see how this is necessary 55 years later. Even though Disney has a lot of control over Anaheim, they do NOT have such status there, and everything functions just fine (except the sandwich place when you make a custom order, apparently).

I'm guessing that some corrupt shit happened back then, where campaign donations and/or bribes were made, and this special rule was passed. Obviously it's great for Disney itself, but a horrible and un-American idea. Corporations and government should always be separate.

This has long been my complaint about Indian casinos (there is no jurisdiction over them, and they constantly run roughshod over the rights of guests), but that's a whole different matter which is a bit more complicated.
