I was surprised to learn that there is more proven Oil then the whole of Saudi Arabia plus a Kuwait or two. The quality isnt as easy to refine as some have said, but guess where in the world has the experience to best refine this brand of raw oil? Hint: its the same place that they used to send Venezuelan oil before they nationalized and took all the oil right away from all the world wide oil companies. Send that shit across the gulf of America.... how about a pipeline?

Control of oil is obviously important. The only thing more important is the US Petro Dollar.

If they wanted to pay whats due to get off the sanctions lists and sold it to china for USD they would have been left alone

Exactly. Over a third of our refineries have the capacity to process heavy crude, and believe it or not, for those who can, the returns are significantly higher per barrel versus light sweet crude. There is much more of a pound for pound demand for diesel, jet fuel, and petroleum coke.

It seems difficult to fathom currently, but things like increased range, charging access, and true FSD will likely cause EV demand to rapidly increase over the next few years, eventually hitting a point of no return for combustion vehicles. And remarkably, we will have the Venezuelan supply chain up and running again just in time to offset decreased demand domestically for light crude.

The real loser here as always is Canada.

theres an interesting theory being bandied about by Anonymous. they claim the lions share of maduro's wealth has been exfilled to russia + the us, and that hes already purchased his retirement villa in dubai, and that this is all basically death theater that was roughly scripted out under the table a long time ago.

it would be odd if they just invented all that. will be interesting to see if maduro 'cuts a miracle deal' in the name of a peaceful transition or some silly shit and quietly capers off into dubais sunset while bari makes sure everyone is fixed on whatever they trot out next.
