bill burr is a confirmed deity
can't wait for this
BUMP
This does look good, especially if you grew up in the 1970s and can relate to the material.
Too bad it's only 6 episodes. I guess Netflix doesn't have much of a budget.
Way more likely Bill wouldn't commit to more episodes. Netflix content budget is double the size of HBO.
This show was horrible.....not funny at all.
The best shows often have short seasons, which is how they can stay the best shows. The British have known this forever, which I found out when I started looking for things like Black Adder and Sherlock. FX lets Louis CK put out however many episodes he feels he can, 6-8 episodes sometimes.
Get used to this format, because it works best for everyone involved. Once you take network "season" limitations out of the picture, there's no reason to stick to pump out 20+ episodes a year of anything. Instead, you make 6 and make them great. 10 also seems to be common.
I like Bill Burr, but I quit watching this show after one episode.
Yeah I watched the first one but couldn't get past it. It was like Beavis and Butthead from the parents point of view.
I wanted to like this show because I enjoy Burr's stand up and the podcast but it's like comparing applesauce to shit. According to Bill the show did really well and they renewed it for another season. I'm not sure who enjoyed it so much? Maybe it fits the Maury Povich demographics?
The show is great! A little raunchy for my taste and I could do without the swearing but other than that it's amazing.
Only 2 schools that I know of: 1 the guy that does it all themselves, takes it to festivals and meetings, gets feedback and makes a sale. 2. Personality driven large scale projects that are pre-sold based on the strength of 'The Team's' previous accomplishments aka "Packaging" (attach an animator, a known actor or group of actors, award winning writers and most likely a producer that has something in the 'win' category). The only way I've seen to get to #2 is to succeed at #1 at sometime in your career.
The show has potential so I'll give season 2 a watch but I did expect more.
It takes time to build character stories up to get you involved sometimes so I won''t write it off just yet.
For what it is 7/10 since some bits made me laugh a bit but still it's Bill fucking Burr so I have high expectations.
I don't know what it was about the audio mix but it seemed like the character voices were somehow grating, like overly loud or something. Can't put my finger on what it was but it was almost as if they used shitty recording equipment or a cut rate mixing board / audio producer.
