What is funny to me is that the second example Mason uses as Todd's "Infringement" was a post that was made on multiple websites by the OP. It's posted verbatim on a site called askgamblers.com and I am almost positive I saw it on SBR although it was removed. Is he suing the other websites where the post appeared? What site did it appear on first? I am fairly certain that if the OP of the slots.lv complaint was aware that his complaint was proliferating, he would be pretty stoked about it since he wouldn't have to keep registering at forums and copy/pasting his statement.

There are some very smart people who post on 2+2 (such as that raidalot guy), but also lots of really dumb ones.
A few idiots in that Witteles Infringement thread are theorizing that I "picked this fight" to get more traffic over here.
Ummm.... I didn't pick any fight. I was calmly doing my own thing over there, and Mason was the one who had his lawyer sending me demands, followed by a carefully-SEO'd thread attempting to accuse me of copyright infringement.
Not that every poster on PFA is great, but the dimness of the average poster over there never fails to amaze me.
This is also clearly about Mason asserting his "power" and seeing revenge upon me for past (imagined) grievances.
Mason is not going after any other site or forum which copy/pastes third-party posts on 2+2.
Mason's own forum is filled with posts which are copy/pasted from elsewhere. His mods have never attempted to stop such a practice.
This site does not run for profit, and never has. I am not attempting to compete with 2+2, nor am I attempting to steal their traffic.
The section of this forum which concerns him -- Scams, Scandals, and Shadiness -- is actually a public service to the poker community, seeking to out scams and frauds within the poker and gambling community. By Mason's own admission, the copy/pasting of third party posts on his site was done "to create separate discussions on PokerFraudAlert". Yeah, exactly. We are trying to spread the word about scammers and fraudsters within the poker community, and the more publicity of such things, the better for everyone. Does 2+2 have a monopoly on starting discussions on poker scams?
None of this copy/pasting has cost Mason a penny. In fact, given that I always put a backlink to 2+2 to attribute the source of the post being copy/pasted (as did all other users who copy/pasted from there), PokerFraudAlert likely brought additional traffic to Mason's site, even those who already knew about 2+2 but hadn't thought of visiting in awhile. This is why I always assumed Mason was fine with this practice, and it was clear that his mods such as ProfessionalPoker were aware of it for years. Until this year (5 years after PFA started), Mason never once raised issue with this.
Anyway, good luck Mason with taking legal action regarding content you don't own, against a site not running for profit.
No statement on 2+2 from Mason's lawyer yet.
I'm sure the guy loved being hassled by Mason on Sunday night to come out to 2+2 to post something.
I don't know shit about internet law but I think this wraps it up from what I've read recently.
