He's probably right. Kimmel is almost 58 years old. He's not going to appeal to young people. Younger people today have so many entertainment choices, they don't need to park themselves in front of the TV to watch some whiny late 50s dude. They can open YouTube or Tiktok and see people their own age.
That's part of the reason Kimme's ratings suck so much. Not only is he relegated to the middle-aged-and-older demographic, but he drove away all of the conservatives, and I can't imagine a lot of nonwhite people like him either. His whole career has been aimed at entertaining white people. So he's got a pretty small demographic at this point.
My PFA show primarily appeals to middle-aged and older men. I don't attempt to make it friendly to the younger crowd. I can't relate to that age group now, nor do I even know what they want to hear. Plus poker and casino gambling are older people's topics at this point. I feel like I have a lot more in common these days with 75-year-olds than I do 25-year-olds, though the average age of my audience has always been right around the age I am.

He was pro-cancellation until the old videos came out of him in blackface and simulating groping women. Then he became anti-cancellation.
Then he became pro-cancellation again when it was Trump and other conservatives.
Now he's anti-cancellation again.
Kimmel thinks that everyone but him deserves to be cancelled for untrue or offensive speech, except for him.

Just saw Kimmel's full ratings.
He only had around 250k viewers in the coveted 25-54 age demographic, and almost all of the rest of the viewers (about a million of them) were 55+. So FRANKRIZZO's kid was right. Young (and even middle-aged) people don't like him.
He was basically speaking to old white libs at this point. Keep in mind there's about 131 million people in the US between 25-54.
That means fewer than 1 in 500 people in that demographic were watching him. Ouch.
No wonder the network and affiliates were so happy to get rid of him.
Also, apparently they suspended him immediately because he told people he was planning to come on the following night, bash MAGA further, "clarify" his comment which he claimed was taken out of context, but still stand by his belief that the shooter wasn't left wing.
So ABC decided to pull the plug before any further damage could be done.
By the way, I don't even have to hear his bullshit "clarification" to know what he's going to claim he meant.
He was going to say something like, "MAGA rushed to classify the shooter as left wing before anything was known about him -- even before the shooter was identified. It seemed their main concern was to use this moment to blame the left, and further their agenda to attack and silence the other side. We don't know the ideology of the shooter. We've only been given a few tidbits of thirdhand information, some of it contradictory, and the responsible thing to do is to wait until everything is further clarified, before we jump to conclusions. I was simply pointing out that MAGA was trying to immediately exploit the moment by acting like it was a foregone conclusion that they knew the shooter's politics, and then use it to further some very dangerous plans. You can already see some of it, that's why they're trying to take me off the air."
The problem with such a statement is that Kimmel never made the point that we don't know the shooter's ideology (even though we do). He simply said MAGA reached a "new low this week" by "trying to characterize the shooter as anything but one of their own". That wording was on purpose. He has a big writing team putting these monologues together. This was carefully put together to make it sound like the shooter was MAGA, but to allow him wiggle room for plausible deniability if there was backlash from it.
They all think they're so clever... all of this wink-wink-nudge-nudge messaging where they leave themselves outs to explain it away if confronted or proven wrong, and a general disdain for the general public they think they're so good at manipulating.
