How about against a pitcher who allowed 1 run in 18 innings between August 24 and Sept 3?
Kai-Wei Teng had one good start in early August, and 5 bad starts. His numbers are dreadful. But do you know what I saw?
He had 16 K over his past 9.1 innings, and generated 14 whiffs on just 77 pitches last time out. This looks like he's getting close to getting it together, especially since his issues in his last start were from walks (5), whereas in the previous start he allowed 0.
Zac Gallen is a mystery, having gotten hit hard early by these same Giants last time out, but otherwise having 3 great starts prior to that. He's very inconsistent, so this is a risky play.
Ploppies will look at the pitchers and auto-fire on what looks like a great low priced favorite on the Dbacks at home, but I'm going the other way.
