This was a hilarious prank call by Captain Janks, who pretended to be Philadelphia Mayor Rendell congratulating her on her show appearing in the Philly market, and once he got put on (and introduced as Mayor Rendell), he said, "Howard Stern says you're a fat pig, you know that?"
By the time Rosie realized it was a prank and cut him off, she was fuming. Apparently she went to break and screamed at her staff for allowing this to happen.
Woke Howard wants you to forget that he used to encourage this sort of thing. Dude has lost his edge more than anyone I've ever seen.
Another funny Rosie moment was when she came out as a lesbian in 2002.

A quick glance on Google relates that Rosie's dad emigrated from County Donegal as a child. As an Irish citizen myself, I can confirm for you that Donegal is most assuredly located in the Republic of Ireland. Also, since it's her parent that is irish born, she's already recognized by the Republic as a citizen. She just has to claim it. Unlikely that your source (i can't find any source for the info you posted) is correct.

Genealogy is my hobby and I watch shows like Genealogy Roadshow, Finding Your Roots, and Who Do You Think You Are? I seen Rosie on WDYTYA about 10 years ago. But the show is about her tracing her mother's side the family back to Ireland. She discovers where in Ireland her maternal ancestors were from in Part 2:Who is saying she's Welsh? Ireland?
