The program helps children of migrant parents. "These are the children whose parents work the fields of America," Carvalho said.

    Expecting funding loss: $1.4 million

Just how many farmland fields are in the city of LA or the boundaries of LAUSD?

    Title IV, Part A:
Carvalho explained the federal program provides financial support for academic and enrichment activities that benefit all students. "This is how we fund college and career support, secondary summer enrichment courses, school counselors and digital resource investments in schools," he explained.

    Expected funding loss: $45.4 million

Counselors and Summer School. LAUSD has budget revenues of 15.9 BILLION! AND a proposed budget of 18.8 BILLION. They can't come up with 45.4 million. The Supt. has his own limo/driver.

    AI Overview

A provision within a newly passed federal budget bill, sometimes referred to as the "One Big Beautiful Bill," allocates $85 million to move the Space Shuttle Discovery from its current location at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, to Space Center Houston in Texas. The bill was signed into law by President Trump on July 4, 2025.

Details of the Provision: The bill includes a provision to support the "Bring the Space Shuttle Home Act," a bill previously introduced by Texas Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. The $85 million is intended for transporting and housing the shuttle at Space Center Houston. At least $5 million is for transportation costs, and the move must be completed by January 4, 2027.

Context and Controversy: The legislation passed Congress with only Republican support. The Smithsonian estimates the total cost could be around $325 million.
Opposition has been raised regarding the cost and the fact that Space Center Houston charges admission, unlike the current location.

what's more offensive is just thinking what Israel could have done with that 85million. shameful america, shameful.

Houston sucks, but the Johnson Space center is fantastic. It would be a great addition. I’m sure it cost a pretty penny to put Air Force One at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, but everyone loves it.
