This week I drove to the very top of Kyle Canyon Road to check on the PFA dial phone and see the old lodge. The empty pad is still there and nothing has been done. Curious if and when the lodge will actually will be re-built.

Druff will stay on top of this and let us know and time moves on.

Really? I'm surprised they haven't started yet.

Over the years, more and more Vegas locals have decided to venture out to Mt. Charleston for sledding and snowplay during the winter. Used to be easy to find a parking spot and a reasonably uncrowded area to sled. Not anymore. Now you really need to go off the beaten path to find something, and sometimes the entire area is so jammed that they completely close the roads to new traffic from LV.

Given this being the case, it's weird they haven't made any progress with rebuilding the lodge.

I'm guessing the usual- politics and funding.

Note- The very old staffed fire station (former NDF, now Mt. Char. Fire District) is finally going to get torn down and moved across the street into Old Town. This was long overdue.
