1. The potential forces to be deployed are almost entirely logistical support and medical personal being sent due to expectations Israel is going to have a mess on its hands and will need our assistance with battlefield trauma injuries, attempt to help civilian injuries and help free up IDF forces normally tied to desks to move stuff to be freed up for combat ops if need be
2. The real reason the Eisenhower and Ford are headed to the Eastern Med is to send a screaming loud message to the mullahs in Iran. Make good on that threat to join the war and we may not put boots down in Israel we will feel perfectly ok bombing the ever loving hell out of your military bases and nuclear facilities. Iran is already on shaky ground over some stunts in the Gulf. They piss the wrong way into the Persian Gulf it could invoke Article V of NATO if theyre dumb enough to fire on any US Ships in or near the Gulf. And if ya think KSA wouldnt just love us to smash Iran decently to put Crown Prince MBS in a position to dictate as the regional power your missing the bigger picture..
3. I know the possibility of 2 sucks and honestly I hope it doesn't get to that point because that itself might very lead to a much bigger conflict potentially that could much more likely set off a conflict with Russia and the USA {If reports are true Putins health is as bad as has been out he may feel he has anything to lose himself}.
