Speaking of holding signs, the big thing my newsfeed seems to want to cover is all of the Pro-Israel/Pro-Palestine protests. I suppose there was one Pro-Palestine protest in Pittsburgh, so I could theoretically find that relevant, but the others have less than nothing to do with me.

Only in the U.S.A. would these folks be both arrogant and stupid enough to think holding a sign in a U.S. city bitching (for one side or the other) about affairs taking place 6,000 miles away from us in a war that should have absolutely nothing the fuck to do with us is going to accomplish anything.

What we should be doing is saying, "This conflict is fundamentally about religion, so both sides can fuck right off." Human rights abuses. It seems like one side committed them, then the other committed them right back. Bunch of supposedly religious people arguing who it is enacting vengeance upon whom? What a fucking joke!

If these fucking noisemakers want to effectuate change in the Middle East, then they should go to the Middle East and attempt to do that. At least these protests seem not to have led to too much violence in our own country.

I seriously think Twitter and other main social media platforms fucked over a lot of peoples mental health in the last week. I’ve seen some of the most fucked up videos online and over the last week this shit got to me. I won’t even describe which parts because it’s a legitimate trigger for so many people. I’ve backed off looking at anything else at this point cause it’s beyond depressing.

It’s also pretty disgusting when you realize how much money these accounts are making through reposting this shit.

You are undoubtedly older and tougher than most of the viewers worldwide. Can you imagine if there was a way to quantify how folks have been affected by this? Fewer and fewer people have great mental health to begin with. Especially those online which I guess is most.

Very few in the US personally know war. No one has served to any significant degree. This is getting pretty close to serving and those who have are always affected forever.

I don't have great mental health to begin with, but because of that, the videos don't move the needle for me whatsoever. Of course, perhaps I haven't seen the worst of them. I really don't go out of my way looking for war porn.
