So T minus 9 days till Miami Music week. RT flight was $150.

6 days ago Ultra cancelled. I cancelled my Airbnb then, they filled the room the same day.

Yesterday Morning my Aunt and Uncle told me I was no longer welcomed.

I asked the original property if I paid them a little bit more could they cancel their other reservation and they said they cant for "no reason" only the host can, which is bullshit cause that happened to me 2 years ago when the Airbnb host cancelled on me 10 days before Ultra due to a "flood" in which she couldn't provide pictures of.

I rebooked for the same price but 4 days instead of 5 at another property last night.

Tonight I get a message saying those dates are open. LOL

The total comes out to $300 with fees. Gonna offer $150 and see if she takes it.

Interesting and disturbing story in those tweets. While I believe her account, I disagree that this is all the federal government's fault. Local and state governments are blowing this, too. All around it's not being handled well, and there's little cooperation between the various levels of government.

Politically, though, this is Hurricane Katrina all over again. The federal government is doing a flawed job, the local governments are worse, and yet the federal government is getting all the blame.

more blame should be going to the feds. saving us from covid-19 is literally the whole purpose of the CDC.

to see other countries like south korea doing better than us on testing is embarrassing.

It’s already too late, every infectious disease expert is saying that.

Best estimates that I have seen are up to six months, up to 100 million infected in the US, up to 50 million hospitalizations and 500,000 dead. Basically 6-7x worse than a flu season. With probably 2-3 rounds of infections making up those total numbers.

Average healthy person will have a 3 day flu, young people may show zero symptoms, lots of old people, smokers and fat people will die.

The positive is that after this presumably future outbreaks will be better because we will have 100 million people immune.

What are local governments doing wrong? Isn't the main problem not enough tests?
