Must have been the Corona virus that finally got him.

Professional gamblers qualify for Nevada unemployment amid crisis
https://www.reviewjournal.com/busine...risis-2001863/
Seriously? Just makeup whatever dollar amount that pops in your head? How would they verify that since Casinos are closed? Would you need to file a federal tax return for a certain number of years claiming gambling losses or winnings? Impossible to get through to unemployment in Nevada anyway.

That old man living til 104 is pretty cool, but I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere and your post reminded me of it...
A WWII veteran recovered from COVID-19 just in time to celebrate his 104th birthday in Oregon on April 1.

Scrape this guys platelets = instacure, probably.
Baby girl all good. Born at 130am out of hospital by 10pm last night . Apparently Ontario ministry of health directing hospitals to get babies out as soon as possible because of covid 19. So 24 hour check done this morning at health clinic. I don’t mind as it was like we were in a jail cell unable to leave room at hospital. Had private room but was still so damn small. Other bonus is hospital not charging for parking to reduce spread.
Otherwise I’m exhausted but I was never a great sleeper anywyas. I
Ridgeback Biotherapeutics has an interesting oral treatment thats apparently successful at blocking replication in the lungs. huge win if true.

reputable source, reputable university doing the testing, fda greenlit trials. worth getting a little excited about.
Curious, we are at 12,000 deaths US nationwide two months into this thing. Per CNN a couple weeks ago we were going to surge to 240,000 deaths and maybe millions. Not seeing it.
Also, the Governor of NY said he needed 30,000 ventilators like 10 days ago. He has like 5,000 and there is no shortage.
How did we go to mass deaths into hundreds of thousands to something that is less than the annual flu from 2018?
Another unpopular take and I'm not sure it's accurate but it's worth considering the virus growth already peaked in a lot of southern states and for whatever reason it just isn't spreading as effectively. The Florida wiki page (under statistics) shows a pretty steady drop in the daily % growth. Lots of explanations for this such as a lack of testing but its worth being open to the possibility the virus won't explode there as it did in some other hot spots. Time will tell...
I actually agree with you to some extent. When they announced the 100,000 figure I thought it would be less, in the short term, but if they had taken no measures the toll would have been way, way worse.
In the long run I firmly believe that figure will be easily hit but as long as the medical system isn't overwhelmed it can be handled.
Continually comparing the amount of deaths it to the annual flu is just wrong because we don't take any measures as a society to combat it other than a small percentage take the flu shot. If we all did nothing, like we always do, it would have blown the seasonal flu out of the water.
We have been hit over the head that we need to take this seriously and fire and brimstone and you are a mouth breathing science denied if you don’t fall in line and say it’s going to be millions dead and so on and so forth.....
We are starting to see see some politicians and newspapers stick their toe in the water saying very very noncommitedly “this is bad but maybe it won’t be as bad we thought”.
The numbers outside of NY, NJ and now Michigan Louisiana and Illinois are starting to support that narrative.
And no..... I’ll say it before anyone else does..... this doesn’t mean we over reacted.
