DOT already has traffic warnings on their signs for the 8th.
Heading up to the ADKs for full blackout. Told the kids we have to leave by 6am to avoid the logjam on the 2 lane highway into the mountains.
Will be hiking 5.5 miles back rain or shine, to a remote lake with a leanto. It is mud season. Will bring fishing pole for some Brookies.
They say Venus, Mercury, and Mars will be visible.
I’m heading to Rogers Texas with my kid, supposedly will be cloudy but it’s only a couple hours away via backroads.
3 minutes of totality vs 30 seconds 17 miles East….weird.
And if the eclipse is a dud at least I got the kid off the computer.

Considered paying the big $$ to travel to see, but forecasts were scaring me.
Turned out it cleared up in a lot of places forecasted to be cloudy. Almost booked a trip to Cleveland last minute, which turned out to be sunny.
Oh well.
