But the radio is also the main reason we have a stream of new users who replace the old ones. That's why the NWP/DD spinoff sites never caught on beyond siphoning existing users away. There was no factor bringing new people in. The radio show is a big feeder for that.
Sobchak didn't leave because of desertrunner.
I asked him why he left, and he said that there was too much negativity on the forum in general, and he got too caught up in it, and he felt it was healthier just to quit and do other things.
While I never agreed with his politics, he was actually a nice guy, though I will concede it got a little heated toward the end of his run here between him and certain users (not just desertrunner).

I found PFA through the radio around 10 years ago as well. I took a job where I had to commute about 3 hours a day total 5 days a week and started looking for different poker podcast to listen to. I liked this one because it was long and detailed. Didn't really find the forum all that interesting but did make an account a few months later.Quote:
