Republican tribalism is totally out of control. They don't even realize how insane they've gotten.
Even without the child molestation, Roy Moore is not fit for public office. The guy has been kicked off the bench twice for not following the law, and he doesn't even follow his own law. He started dated his wife while she was still married, so he doesn't follow his precious ten commandments.
It's pretty clear, if you support Roy Moore, you are a horrible person.

We call it Minority Report, if you build AI to seek out information it can’t also be the judge and executioner, because people lie, people distort facts, there are inconsistencies in the stories people tell.
Maybe I am too close to the data/AI side of this to come off with the correct amount of compassion, when in general we should be overwhelmingly supportive of people willing to come forward.
I do know that her story has all the hallmarks of not having all the facts though and that might make me callous, but it doesn’t make me a supporter of child sexual abuse.

“All The Presidents Men” has been running endlessly on HBO. It is as appropriate as running Christmas movies at the moment. Makes me chuckle to think of the programming meeting at HBO.
I’ve watched it twice recently. Got something more out of it each time.
I walked away from my last viewing thinking about how quaint and primitive political shannanigans and technology was back in the ‘70’s.
A Republican slush fund for dirty tricks against the Democrats. That would have gotten nothing more than a chuckle and a “GG” today.
It is remarkable how cynical and sophisticated the population has become. Our resignation & acceptance of political filth and self interest really says a lot about our decline when you contrast the two periods.
In terms of the press (Washington Post), a great deal was made about fact checking and the demands Bill Bradley made for finding multiple sources. Reputations were at stake. Think about the press today and shake your head in wonder again at how far our institutions have fallen.
Recommend seeing the movie if you’re a political junkie. Great stuff

Though Syria was infested by a tiny minority of radical Muslims who were brainwashed into believing they could create a pure Islamic State.

The movie gives the viewer an incredible set of contrasts. If the movie was released today that would have been the message. It’s relevant for different reasons now.
