omg what pigs!! I just learned the airlines are not just asking for loans, they want grants (meaning gifts): 29billion grants + 25 billions loans!
https://www.usnews.com/news/business...ral-government
all that without restrictions on executive pay? no way!
look, I understand the need to have the airlines service the country, so providing support is okay,
BUT
no gifts, although the fed govt could pay gate fees that domestic airlines pay airports, for 6 months
and also, a salary & bonus cap on all airline executives pay set at $400,000 per year, the same as what the President of the USA gets, until the loans are repaid
and last, for 10 years out no purchases of airliners made outside of the US
The $1000 per adult being discussed is likely only going to people making less than $75,000 or $100,000.
Which is kinda BS. They should make it $1000 and then start bringing it down on a sliding scale at a certain point, like lowering it $100 for each $10,000 of reported income in 2019.
Durant one of the 4 Nets who got dat 'rona
Perhaps, but I think we can all agree the cruise industry is shot for quite a while. The Government is going to be so up in their business going forward you will need strict testing before getting on board. I actually like cruises, but if anyone thinks I am going to get a test before I go on board go fuck yourself, I will do something else.
This is true in the sense that there are probably too many people out there saying 'fuck it' and carrying on, negating any meaningful impact that those of us staying home are creating.
The redneck conspiritard component of people I know back in NC (not all MAGA) are dropping ripe 'government control, fake news' memes left and right; it definitely hasn't connected yet with the anti vaxxer, chem trail crowd.
Fox News switching up messaging by realizing that the gaslighting killing off their viewing audience is worse than fake newsing a pandemic is helpful but likely too late.
Bodies are found to begin getting stacked at shocking rates.
Hoping I'm wrong.
If this is the case it’s fuckin stupid. Simple fact is that the majority of people spend what they make. Many people with a household income of more than $100,000 will still be fucked if they miss a couple paychecks especially in places with high costs of living. More money more problems yo.

Caesars decided it was just going to close the buffet, and steal MGM/Wynn business.
Now they're rethinking it.
They are going to close the casino at their properties, though the hotels will stay open for now.
This hasn't formally been announced yet.
Two days ago, they took heat for this tweet:

Apparently, the casinos wont have a choice:

Random thought:
Once the dust settles and the country is back to its daily routine, IMO there would never be a better time (from a terrorist's perspective) to commit a major terror attack on US soil.
Believe me, I hate thinking about it, but...
