◥◣▃▂▁▁ OFFICIAL - UPCOMING MOVIES THREAD - TRAILERS AND DISCUSSION▁▁▂▃◢◤
So as you could imagine, I got trapped in that part of Youtube that just has movie trailers and an hour later I figured there should be a thread because I didn't know 1/10th of the films that were coming out.
This one in particular I have been waiting several years for. I learned about Jordan Belfort because he became a speaker and sales trainer and was funny as hell. The assumption here is that this film will win every award under the sun.
Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Léa Seydoux, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, and introducing Tony Revolori.
Anyone catch Bourdain in Detroit? I'm going to watch it tonight.
Sorry, that Robo re-boot looks fucking awful.
Yes, awful. It's one of those things that should have been left alone, and that should have been buried after Robocop 2. I just keep running into trailers I didn't know were out. I'm really behind.
That being said, here is another one I ran into, it looks pretentious and hideous all wrapped up in a hand roll. I hope Aaron Paul made 8 figures for doing this, and got it up front:
This Calvin & Hobbes one looks like shit. Who the fuck would watch this crap?
Just kidding, it's gonna be the tits & I now have a reason to live. Somebody please find this & post it at the earliest oppurtunity so we can all see it. TIA.

At my first glance, this movie looks like garbage - which it probably really is. I hope the hell that Aaron Paul considers this as just a little bump in the road and just moves on to more great things. I honestly think that Aaron is a good actor that is only going to get even better and I truly wish him the best - hopefully he doesn't ruin his chances by signing up for garbage flicks.
Watching that reminds me of Vin Diesel- and im just sitting here hoping that Aaron doesn't turn into another Vin Diesel. Years ago I honestly had such high hopes for Diesel - I thought he was going to move on to some really good movies....until he started doing that fast and furious shit.

This is what is referred to as a 'paycheck movie'. It's what you do when you dutifully suffered in a 5 year contract for wages beneath your actual pay-scale. Demand for the kid is high and he knows it. You are never more in demand than just before your next project gets released.
I should have known that Hollywood was lame enough to make a sequel to 300, but I hadn't really considered it. The rest of that invasion in pretty boring. Xerxes goes back to Persia, and the remains of his army gets slaughtered in a not-very-exciting battle.
I liked 300, because it's an amazing true story. But I absolutely hated that they made Xerxes into this gigantic dude with ridiculous piercings and a speedo. This is what he actually looked like-
