Four of these five bets on the Eagles/Bills game this week won, except for Eagles -3, which tied.
This should have converted itself to a 4-game parlay, and the Eagles -3 leg should have been removed as if it never existed.
Instead, by ESPNBet rules, the entire thing became a tie, and the bettor got his money back, rather than winning approximately 10x his money.
He only wagered $40, so he only lost out on $400, but this is non-standard, and he's justifiably angry.

Here's the official ESPNBet rules about it, from Section B/6.2c:

If one or more selections in a same game parlay portion of a Parlay+™ wager settle as a push (for example, due to a total ending up exactly on the number that was selected), the same game parlay portion of the Parlay+™ wager that contained the applicable selection will be deemed a push, except if a selection of such same game parlay portion results in a loss, in which case above applies. The remaining selections in the Parlay+™ wager will be graded in accordance with the Operator’s house rules.
FanDuel and DraftKings, also legalized books in the US, would pay this same bet as a 4-game parlay win. FanDuel used to have rules like ESPNBet, but they changed it awhile back due to customer outrage.
ESPNBet is a new brand, converted from "Barstool Sports", which itself was previously purchased by Penn National Gaming. They refuse to comment about this matter on social media or anywhere else.
This is especially likely to screw bettors where part of the parlay is a football line of 1, 3, 7, or 10 points, as these are common score differentials in that sport (especially 3 and 7).
The only way one can avoid this fate on ESPNBet is to only do parlays with lines ending in ".5", as those can never end in a tie.
