Funny thing was, my credit sunk to around 590 when I got sideways in 2006-08 same time I joined NWP.

My credit, due to perseverance, has risen to 722 as of last week. I have zero debt and $250K in the bank. I have no worries whatsoever financially.

So with that said, given my financial strength I will likely get into credit card bonus whoring. You score really only needs to be above 680 to get the best offers anyway and I would like to get some free plane tickets.

    Excellent thread. I will update.

You don't even need offers. You just click on the links I am posting (which don't earn me anything btw) and you will get approved provided your credit is decent.

Main caveat is that you need to be able to spend $3000 in 3 months on the card in most cases, which can sometimes be tough.

I am debating whether to do the cash back deals from BoA (1,2,3%) or the airline points. If I start whoring too much my credit will go from 722 to below 680 which nukes me from other offers. You started in the 800s so you have room to drop.

I am only doing this to get freebies. I have a Capital One card(s) with an $7,000 and $10,000 limit and gives me nothing, so I am definitely going the credit bonus whoring route. All I really want is a couple plane tickets. I called them last week and they had no idea about credit card bonus whoring. They simply asked if I could relinquish paper statements.

$200, $100 for checking, $100 for savings. Not a credit card bonus whoring but same result. http://slickdeals.net/f/7447180-capi...ee?v=1&src=tdw

    Citibank double cash card:

    https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/cr...sh-credit-card

This is good if you don't have a business TIN for a Capital One Spark card (which is superior to this one).

This card does NOT require a business TIN. You get 2% cash back on all purchases.

There are no bonuses here, so it's just a good card to have if you want 2% on all purchases.

There are two small catches, though:

    1) You get 1% back immediately, and 1% when you pay your minimum balance (or more) each month. This is no big deal, and will just be a slight delay.

    2) You can only redeem in increments of $25, which is annoying. Capital One Spark allows you to redeem every penny you've earned, from a minimum of $10.

    No annual fee.

Card is useless if you have the Spark, but otherwise it's a good one to have in your wallet.

Just got a Marriott Card with 50,000 points which is like two Courtyard stays. Cost me nothing, and I got a $15,000 limit. Little surprising so low on the credit limit since my credit is over well over 700 (and have 0 debt). I am assuming its a marketing trick where they offer me more points down the road for an increased credit limit. I expected something north of $20K but since I am never using the card it does not matter. I like my other card where I get airline miles.

Thanks Druff, never would have thought of this opportunity. Now I have two free hotel rooms for simply having good credit and not being a fucking loser. Good call on this thread.

Okay thanks. I might sign up for that.

Here is a good one for Hilton, who now owns the Waldorf Astoria brand. If you've ever been curious about the Waldorf hotels, but don't want to throw down the big money to stay there, this credit card allows you to get two free weekend nights at nearly any Hilton property, including the Waldorf! Some of these hotels run you like $800/night normally.

You need to spend $2500 on it in the first 4 months.

    https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/cr...s-reserve-card

There is a $95 annual fee which is NOT waived.

You have 12 months to use your certificate.
