hongkonger go take a walk or something, you're embarrassing me
For those of you who won betting Trump, aside from the money did anything feel particularly good about winning this particular bet?
For me it was the aspect of the transfer of money from a possible Hillary Libtard supporter (or someone who at least had the faith to bet on that limping pony) straight into my pockets. Winning a bet NEVER felt so good!
I'd be curious to hear any other perspectives.
i'LL BE HONEST, NOT SURE HOW TRUMP FILLS THE GAP IN POP VOTE WITH MICHIGAN, EVEN THO ITS THE TINIEST LITTLE DIFFERENCE RIGHT NOW. BUT THAT IS THE PROJECTION.

re Obamacare, they can't fully repeal it without 60 senate votes, which they don't have, but they can pretty much end the way it works with just 50.
weird thing is now i'm reading that they might not even try to repeal obamacare without a viable alternative in place. they really want something to cover people with pre-existing conditions. but they can't get something else in place without 60 senate votes, which they don't have.
will be interesting to see if this is the first thing president trump backs out of. well, second, cause that wall idea was always ridiculous.

It can be de-funded in committee. It's over. With that said, people with pre-existing conditions will still be covered as they should. But the law as it stands now, it will be gutted and unrecognizable in a couple years. It was a failed policy from day 1, and it probably cost Clinton the election when premiums reset November 1st.
making sure people with pre-existing conditions are covered only works if the rest of the law is in place too (i.e., mandating insurance for healthy people). otherwise, insurers would have to raise the rates on the rest of us by 1,000,000%. that part cannot be kept in unless they come up with a whole new law, which they will need democrat support for
explain how Obamacare works: I have insurance from my job, but one of my good friends who is a bartender/pot dealer doesn't have insurance. He is in his 20's and told me that he had to pay a penalty for not having insurance when he did his taxes, i wanna say it was 275 dollars but I'm not sure, i know it wasn't huge but still
what's the point?
the guy had no insurance because he said 'fuck it' and so now he has to pay a penalty... but still not insured
Paragraph from book written in 1998 by Richard Rorty called Achieving our Country.
This isn't fake btw. Just a man with great understanding on what was coming.
The full quote from that certain part of his book written 18 years ago if anybody cares.
the system is designed to make sure people with pre-existing conditions can get affordable insurance. since it will cost insurance companies a lot more to pay for their health care, insurance companies need as many healthy people as it can get to sign up for insurance too. the idea is that insurance companies would make money on the young and healthy people, while losing money on those with pre-existing conditions.
the way the government forces healthy people to get insurance is to fine them (on their taxes) if they don't have it. for some people, the fine might still be less than what they would pay for insurance premiums though.
also designed to make health care more affordable for poor people through subsidies
And with it comes the end of all his lofty ambitions. Its easy to protest things like the Iran deal when you have no idea what was bargained for in the other 95% of that iceberg. Now he has to deal with what Hillary had to deal with; explaining things to people you cannot legally explain.

I'm out of rep but +1 million for this. The Dems lost because they got in bed with everyone screwing over the average Americans. They tried to take that advantage away from the a Republicans and for a while it worked (Bill Clinton, Obama) but that era is over. Bernie was our best hope. RIP America
Got a first hand look at the anti-trump protesters here in Boston last night.
People of all color were chanting "Fuck Trump"..."He's not my president"..."white America is racist"...and a bunch of crazy shit. Signs that read amerikkka, fuck america, kill trump just real crazy shit.
When Obama won both times I certainly don't recall crazy protests from the supposed racist whites that a black man was in charge. Truly a disgrace what I saw in person last night. I decided to hang around for a few hours and watch these savages. Most were college students (Harvard, BC, Boston University, Northeastern, M.I.T) that were so up in arms. SJWs, hipsters, minorities, anti war hippies they were all involved. Typical boston left wing elitists.
The best I saw was when a group of them attempted to burn a flag. These 2 guys, one white one black, came.out of nowhere to stop it and grab the flag. They looked ex military.
America is about to be great again.
