    ***OFFICIAL MLB 2016 THREAD***

Opening day coming up soon. AL East already looks like it will be the most....entertaining...division. Boston already a shitshow, with Brock Holt and Travis Shaw getting starting jobs with fat Panda on the bench. Shaw (a 26 year old who was never really considered a major prospect) also was mainly a 1B in the minors, and only played 104 games at third. Still apparently better than the corpse of Pablo now. Every Toronto-Baltimore series will be must-see TV, as it will be a throwback to the steroid era....avg score in those games should be ~ 9-7. Yankees about to be relegated to the senior league. Tampa is the one "boring" team, thus they'll probably win the division.

AL Central and West should be fun to watch also. Both ZiPS AND Pecota projection systems predict the Royals in last place again....after they thought the same last year, and then they won the World Series. The Royals might be literally breaking analytics if they do it again.

"Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of this earth."

Went huge on wins under 87.

The fellowship of the miserable on Boston sports talk all summer. Every caller will be Marty.

I don't even think Price will be all that. He is wholly unprepared for Boston media. Gonna have a mental breakdown.

Hanley Ramirez may be sorta ok at first ... until he costs a game or two. Then the rain of epithets from the stands and he will fold too. This ain't Miami or Los Angeles where nobody gives a shit.

My only fear is Dombrowski. He is capable of strong moves regardless of money previously spent on certain players. This isn't his shitshow..... yet.

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Go Cardinals ! Losing Peralta could hurt pretty bad early on , hopefully we can weather the storm and avoid any major injuries in september again . . .

Do we really have to go though this every year?

What will it take? Three straight World Series appearances?

I bet the Indians for Division, League and World Series

Presumption that KC regresses a bit and opens the door. Indians have talented pitching and quite a few young guys that can play.

Also I am not going to comment much on my beloved Cubs other than to say they should lead baseball in scoring and have top five ERA for their pitching staff. I hope it's their year.

Francona despises his former team the Red Sox. Wrote a book that destroyed the Sox front office. Loved it. Big balls Tito.

Shout out to Mulva (the Black & White cookie genius) who also called out Kluber as the next big thing way before, well, anyone.

Francona, Kluber and the Indians will begin the Red Sox 0-10 start tomorrow.

    Edit:
Cubs, Theo Epstein drafted 5 of the Red Sox starters in 2011 before he told the Sox to get bent.

I mean...I do think a random.org draw has just as much chance of predicting the AL east and central finishes this year as any expert does....all 10 teams in those divisions seem like around 75-90 win teams, barring any major first-half injuries and then the selling at the deadline. I watch more of the central since the Twins are my team....and the CLE pitchers just dont impress me as much as they do to other people. Mainly, though, it's that anemic lineup they have. Lindor, hypothetically, should regress a bit this year with his hitting....Brantley is hurt.....Santana and Kipnis seemingly are constant question marks as to how good they really are......basically for this offense to be division-winning-caliber they are going to really rely on retreads like Napoli and Uribe. I just don't see it myself.

CLE obv wins the division now.....
