Cool special effects, but as far as trailers go, it shows very little.
LOL @ anyone who went to the movies just to see this.

I remember the hype behind the prequels..... By the time next thanksgiving comes around this is going to be the only thing the masses will speak of. And the toys.... Every kid in America is going to want Star Wars toys.... Fucking Mickey Mouse is going to be rich.
I saw horrible bosses 2 and they showed the trailer and all the nerds started clapping. The only thing worse then Star Wars is Star Trek. I'd rather shoot myself then watch either one.

This is the "Official Trailer" released by LucasFilm from the "Star Wars" YouTube.com account but has only 9 million views.Get your first look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the new 88-second teaser.
The "MOVIECLIPS Trailers" account is listed directly on YouTube.com which is why it has way more hits.
There is an "international teaser trailer" but that is fake, a good fake though.
Not sure how this new Star Wars movie is going to be, Disney wants to turn it into a Transformers like franchise and release a new Star Wars movie every year.
Only 13 months to wait.
Why does this need any kind of build UP
IT'S STAR WARS FOR GODS SAKES!!!!!
We've been discussing the JJ choice since before they had picked him to do this next Star Wars. I had always said he was the most logical pick since he knew how to work with effects driven films and that I loved what he did with the Star Trek films, I could only hope that they would do to Star Wars what they had done for Star Trek. This seems to be the case. Get ready for a fuckload of lens flares.
I like Disney's plan for the movies. They'll release a main storyline movie every other year. And then in the off years, they have different groups of people making single character focused movies, maybe set in different time periods. Not sure how this new Star Wars movie is going to be, Disney wants to turn it into a Transformers like franchise and release a new Star Wars movie every year.
I don't know if it's official or still rumors, but the 2 off years for this trilogy are supposed to be Boba Fett and Han Solo movies. We know very little about Han before he meets Luke. There's a rumor of a Yoda movie after that.
I hope the next trilogy is set in the Old Republic, when the Sith are a big order like the Jedi, instead of just 2 dudes. I would also love something even earlier, showing how the Sith first split off from the Jedi.
Regardless, I don't see how Disney could possibly do a worse job with the franchise than Lucas did for the past 20 years. The first Disney product, Rebels, is pretty decent.
Reading these potential spoilers Star Wars Episode 7 will be better than the prequels and better than J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies.
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...
Couple of new shots added to an overseas trailer
the theme song is pretty much synonymous with failed aspirations and cynically exploited dreams at this point.
"Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness." - Alejandro Jodorowsky
"America is not so much a nightmare as a non-dream. The American non-dream is precisely a move to wipe the dream out of existence. The dream is a spontaneous happening and therefore dangerous to a control system set up by the non-dreamers." -- William S. Burroughs
Thought Episode 1 was silly, the whole Anakin Skywalker as a little boy just didn't work for me. Not real big on kids shows may be influencing my opinion.
Really enjoyed 2 and 3. The politics of the Trade Federation made the whole thing seem a bit more real. Also they were good at keeping the story line straight.
Looking forward to 7 although I'm not very fond of Disney.
i liked the one where han shot first.

Surprised that no one had posted the second trailer in this thread.
I see this whole thing as good and bad. The bad news is there is just about a 1% chance this movie will be everything it should be. It can't be anything but generic because frankly there is just too much $$ involved. Of course the good news is because of the $$ involved it won't be the train wreck that was the phantom menace.
Phantom Menace had a budget of $164 million (inflation adjusted). I think Episode VII's budget is $200 million, so not a huge difference. Budget is not a good predictor of quality. Adam Sandler somehow convinces studios to spend $90 million per picture.
Based on Abram's treatment of Star Trek, I'm predicting that these Star War movies are going to be mediocre. The good news for Star Wars fans is that mediocre is good enough, as long as it has storm troopers and light sabers in it. They're the battered housewives of fandom. A lot of people, including 4Dragons, are still in denial about the prequels for god's sake.
