    Here are my initial thoughts:

    - They have done away with the $500-ish buyin, huge field event at the beginning of the series. They have replaced it with last year's successful $1,000 Mystery Bounty event, where one lucky player gets $1,000,000 for drawing the right bounty. Last year, the winner was regular PFA listener Matt Glantz. The tournament was in the middle of the series last year, and now it's become the opening "big field NL event", taking place starting on 5/31, with four Day 1s.

    - There's a Badugi event this year on June 7. That's the first time I've seen such a thing. Too bad I am not good at Badugi, or otherwise I'd play it.

    - The only good thing about COVID was that it mostly did away with 9-handed poker. Most full ring events will be 8-handed this year. Very nice.

    - On June 7, they have a new "Gladiators of Poker" event, which is a $300 turbo event with a $3m guaranteed pool. I'll be skipping this. I wish they stopped having these cheapo events winning bracelets, but then again we have the much worse online bracelets given out now, which are heavily ghosted. So I guess why not have a $300 event also, right?

    - WSOP possibly listened to my suggestions? I was pressing for them to add a $1500 Big O event, as well as a $1500 Short Deck. Guess what? Both are there. Big O is on June 17, Short Deck is on July 12 after the Main Event, but most will be out by then, as the Main will be on Day 6 (which I've only made once). Now where's the return of the $1500 Limit Holdem Shootout I asked for?

    - The Main Event is back to 4 starting flights, and they're holding a random drawing for all Main players to win "entries for life", but in reality that's only 30 years. (LOL... they really couldn't spring for a "lifetime" of Mains?) For me, "life" and "30 years" are probably similar, as the 30 years would last from 2024-2053, at which point I'd be 81. I have to imagine that by age 81, I may not be able to sit through the long Main Event, and I might be dead by then anyway. But for youngsters it's pretty fucked for a "life" prize to only last 30 years.

    List of interest for me:

    June 1 $1500 Limit Holdem
June 2 $1500 Seven Card Stud (hi only)
June 3 $1000 Mystery Millions NL Holdem
    June 6 $1500 Omaha 8 or Better
June 8 $10,000 Limit Holdem Championship
June 10 $10,000 Omaha 8 or Better Championship
June 12 $1500 NL Holdem Freezeout
June 16 $1500 Monster Stack NL Holdem
    June 17 $1500 Big O
    June 19 $1500 Mixed Omaha
June 21-22 $1000 Seniors NL Holdem
June 23 $1500 Millionaire Maker NL Holdem
    June 25 $3000 Limit Holdem 6-Handed
    June 28 $1500 PLO 8 or Better
July 3-6 $10,000 Main Event NL Holdem
    July 12 $1500 Short Deck

These are just events where I have an interest. I will not be playing all of these, and in fact I have a family event in June which will likely conflict with some of these.

I have not yet decided if I will sell pieces.

Definitely playing the early June limit events. Maybe the Seniors. Hopefully I won’t get COVID this year. See you at the limit hold’em event. Let’s make the final table!

Had my eyes set on a few of the different PLO events including the 10K but like Druff i also have some family/work commitments in June that is cutting down the list. If im going to play one its looking like the 3K PLO 6 handed on July 11

The other thing im keeping my eye on are the plo side events that are run across town. Last year the Wynn, Aria and Venetian ran 1-2 day $600-$1100 PLO events.

You don't have to budget your time to strictly wsop events if you looking to play one game. I have a much better record in PLO tournaments than NLH, sonwhy force it just because “im there and its the wsop”.

Just bought plane tickets and booked hotel. Without getting into it the tournament needed to be a Thur or Fri start to work. There are a bunch of omaha tournaments but only the $1500 Purple chip bounty on July 7th starts on a Thur/Fri so I guess thats the one.

I will be out this year as well. I would love to play the $1,500 limit hold 'em on June 1st. If I can't get out there that early, I'll play a 1k or 1.5k NL event. If you haven't done so yet, check out a podcast called "Tournament Poker Edge" with host Clayton Fletcher. See you guys this summer.

We talked about Fletcher on one of the past PFA episode some years ago. He got something stolen from him... I forget the details now.

Airfare and hotel are booked... I am headed to the 2023 WSOP! I'll be playing the $1,500 limit hold 'em event on June 1st. I'll also be playing cash at the Bellagio. I'll post my updates on PFA like I did last year. Good luck to all PFA members, unless you're at my table.

I will be there June 16th - June 28th. Staying at the Horseshoe. Playing Monster Stack, Seniors, and Millionaire Maker and other random shit around town. Also degenning at craps table while pounding vodka redbulls.

Flights and rooms are booked… I have four bullets ready to fire at the Seniors Event this year (June 21 & 22 starting days). Haven’t been to WSOP since 2019 so looking forward to the new location.

Could someone please remind me how I can update my progress on PFA via twitter for my tournament? I did it last year, but have obviously forgotten how to do it.
