This is not Doug's fault, but it highlights how dangerous these Texas poker rooms have become. Because they are unregulated, and exist in more of a mini-mall/warehouse setting than a real casino setting, they tend to have less security and are often targets for robberies.
It appears worse in Houston-area rooms (because Houston is a bigger metro area, and also has higher crime in general), but this robbery shows that even places like Round Rock are susceptible to this.
To be fair, there have been plenty of parking lot and follow-home incidents at LA cardrooms, but in recent years it seems to be worse in these Texas rooms.
