Man, it's got to be up there. There's lots of games to look through where a QB got 6-7 INTs, but they're still accruing a few hundred yards and usually a TD or two. Pick six stats are hard to find, but from what I can tell the career record is 6 (held by Peyton Manning). I guess it's a rarer event than you'd think. I doubt anyone's ever had more than 2 in a game.

    Here's one game I found that's arguably worse: http://www.pro-football-reference.co...7210090oti.htm

    Dan Pastorini: 3/21, 31 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs

EDIT: Oops, that Manning record is for a season. Looks like the career record is 35 (Favre).

Pastorini wound being a good QB. When Houston first drafted him they were god awful. So there is still hope for Kaepernick.

Lets face it, SF played the best team in the NFL today.

Yeah, I found that game via this list of QBs that have posted a zero QBR. Not my favorite stat, but sometimes useful. There's an interesting mix of great and atrocious quarterbacks on there. Pastorini and Warren Moon have each done it twice.

Another terrible line from Johnny Unitas: 1/11, 12 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs.

AZ does look like the best team in the NFL right now, with NE very very close.

I have been trying to get super bowl odds on AZ all day, and sportsbook.com doesnt have them. thats utterly ridiculous.

I would say Green Bay and New England are the best teams. Arizona might be 3rd.

Was 30-1 @ beginning of season... Regret not throwing a bill on it this year.

    Prob closer to 12 or 15 - 1 now.

I assumed this thread would be bumped. kap's only prayer at this point is that Chip Kelly still has a job in a year and picks him up off waiver wire. Of course, Chip would probably ship a 1st for him. If he can get Foles to a 27/2 year, even Kap might be somewhat useful.

az is really good, but Saints, Bears, Niners is really hard to judge as they are all bottom tier teams at this point. Arians has done a good job, but I thought he was an idiot today with Palmer. He got him hit 3 or 4 times up 40-7. That's so fucking stupid with his history. If he continues to do that, he'll be out, and they'll be fucked

JimmyG_415: 100 %. 17-6 in the spread (and 3-0 vs GB.) 9-10 since the progressions. Still got raw talent.

Those teams are top five, imho Denver is probably 2nd best due to the play of their defense, particularly their outside linebackers, who are wrecking havoc---and Seattle in also in the top 5 right now i think

Yup, all you guys are right. I’m a total loser because I was fooled by Kaepernick.

Not sure what to day, this post was made in between a Super bowl season and an NFC championship run. I think most people would be happy w/their QB when his 1st 2 seasons at the helm were that successful.

So if ignorance is bliss, and the 49ers only had those great seasons because of defense and Gore (and not because of his two 100 yard rushing playoff games) I’ll take that. Because he sucks now. His confidence is gone. I’ll go to my grave believing that progressions ruined this guy.

Colin Kaepernick started the worst game of his career Sunday by throwing a pair of touchdown passes to Cardinals defensive backs, putting the 49ers in a 14-0 hole before the defense had even taken the field.

    Yep,

Arians is leaving Palmer in too long. 2nd blowout in a row that Palmer should have been sit down in the 4th quarter. A D-lineman or a LB would love to take out a QB while his team has been blown out. Hope Arians wakes up on this.

The play he was hurt on last year there was little contact.

    At 3:00.

Yeah I have... I assume you are one of those people that bets the nfl based on what happened the prior week? If so let me give you some advice.... what happened last week has zero to do with what will happen the following week

GB v. NE in Super Bowl 50 would be awesome! Especially if it's a great game with GB winning on a final series drive with time running out as Rogers scrambles out of the pocket to throw a one-hand-grabbed TD pass to an relatively unknown third-stringer.

Bears are trading some of their best players for 6th round draft picks. Jon Bostic and Jared Allen What's going on up there?

They still haven't figured out Cutler is the problem. Or they are in denial because of the 7 year deal they gave him.

Serial Fail, I'm just asking what is your deal w/Alex Smith? I get that Kaepernick isn't getting it done, but how would Alex Smith help?

I loved the guy, I did. I still think 1/2 his SF int's weren't his fault.

As far as who is the better 'game manager' I'll give you that.
And I don't think Alex Smith can have as bad a game as we just saw Kaepernick have,

That said, if they are both at 100 %, there is no comparison who is better.

You are telling me a guy who had 0 TD passes to his WR's last season would have been the answer?

I'll take way both GB playoff games and still have a highlight reel of Kap that rivals anyone in the NFL, you take away that NO playoff game, and Alex Smith's would put you to sleep.

Forget the last 2 years and let's focus on the last 3 games / future potential... who would you rather have be your QB THIS sunday and who is making the argument of being a legitimate contender for top 3 worse starting franchise qbs this year?
