*** OFFICIAL *** Buy a Piece of Dan Druff for 2013 WSOP Thread

For information on buying pieces of me in the 2013 WSOP, click here: http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sho...l=1#post147689

I'll only be playing 8 events at most this year. Even in 2010, when I got sick for 2 weeks, I played more events than that. I might play fewer than 8 if I make it deep in some of the events, which end up conflicting with ones I have scheduled.

I will NOT be playing any of the $1k NL events, as I determined they are too luck-based, since you start with just 3000 in chips. Maybe these are good events for some people, but they don't serve my play style well.

This reduction is mostly due to the elimination of some of the events I really liked, and also because I'm not playing online anymore, and thus don't want to end up $40k in the hole if I brick everything.

I'll take 1% across the board.

I was a net loser last year but it was still fun to follow.

Here is a list of events I'll be playing. I will be playing the fewest number of events since 2005 (which was also my best year), when I only played 4.

The ones in bold will NOT be for sale.

June 1: Event #6 $1500 NL Holdem "Millionaire Maker"
History: Cashed last year. Best finish was 4th in 2006.

    June 3: Event #10 $1500 Limit Holdem
History: 3rd place in 2005, but have bricked it for 7 consecutive years.

    June 20: Event #37 $5000 Limit Holdem
History: Bubble boy last year, after losing 4 straight hands. Also finished 20th in this (as a $10k event) in 2008.

    June 22: Event #40 $1500 NL Holdem

    June 25: Event #45 $1500 Ante-Only NL Holdem
History: New event for 2012. Ran deep but did not cash.

    June 26: Event #48 $2500 Limit Holdem 6 Handed
History: Have not cashed in this event since it was created a few years ago

    June 27: Event #49 $1500 NL Holdem

July 7: Event #62 $10000 NL Holdem Main Event
    History: Busted Day 1 2005-2008, Busted Day 2 in 2009, Finished 88th (Day 6) in 2010, Busted Day 3 in 2011 and 2012

So I'll only be playing 8 events at most this year. Even in 2010, when I got sick for 2 weeks, I played more events than that. I might play fewer than 8 if I make it deep in some of the events, which end up conflicting with ones I have scheduled.

I was fortunate enough to be a net winner, praise Druff.

Going by last year's prices, looks like an across the board share would be around 150ish?

Before I post the list of events and their associated share prices, I want everyone to understand the following:

    - This is not a stake. You are buying a direct piece of me in the event. Therefore, if I lose, there is no "makeup". The money is gone forever.

    - Only about 10% of the players cash in any given event. Even for a good player, the chance of not cashing is a LOT higher than cashing. Please don't wager money you can't afford to lose.

    - If I do cash, depending upon the size of your piece, I might require your SSN and other relevant tax info so I can send you a tax form. I won't bother doing so if it's a relatively small amount of money I owe you, but if it's something large, I'm going to have to, or otherwise I will be stuck paying your taxes. Obviously I will keep all of this information confidential. Again, I will skip this and eat the tax implications if it's a small amount of money (just to avoid hassle), but I can't if it's larger.

    - I will give a 5% discount to anyone who has bought pieces of me in the past and came out a net loser. This doesn't sound like a lot, but it's actually substantial, as it will be reducing the markup by a good deal. I will post more details about this on the pricing page in the next post.

    - There are certain events where I am not selling pieces. Please don't try to convince me to sell any pieces of events on the "no sell" list, because I won't budge.

    - Events will be priced based upon my assessment of their difficulty compared to my skill level. Therefore, the lowest priced (markup percentage) events will be the ones where I feel I have the smallest edge over the average player, and the highest priced will be the ones where I have the greatest edge.

    - I might add events that I hadn't previously expected to play. If I do, I will post them in this thread, as well as update the master list of events.

    - If I miss an event (due to illness, conflict with other events, or some other emergency), I will send you a refund within a short period of time. I will skip any events where I feel my health is not good enough for me to play my "A" game. You will also have the option to "roll" the money into a subsequent event instead.

Here is the list of events I will be playing this year.

One "share" equals 1% of my action.

If you have bought shares of me in 2012 and were a net loser, you will get a 5% discount on whatever you buy up to the amount you lost with me last year. For example, let's say you bought $1200 worth of me in the $5k Limit Holdem event last year, where I didn't cash. This would mean that I would discount the first $1200 you want this year by 5%, only charging you $1140. If you wanted to buy any more than that, you would pay what everyone else pays. You would also be able to buy less than $1200, and also get that discounted 5%. The discount of 5% may seem like very little, but in reality it actually matters a lot, as it substantially reduces the "juice" I'm charging on each piece. Note that this only applies to people who lost with me in 2012. If you lost in 2011 but not 2012, you will get no discount.

    Ways you can pay me:

    1) Check -- send me a PM for address
    2) Give me cash in person -- however, I cannot "reserve" pieces for you, so if someone else buys your piece before we meet up, and I sell out of that event, you're out of luck.
    3) Put money in one of my bank accounts. I have accounts at several major banks. PM me if you want to do this and we will arrange it if possible.

Please do not ask me to sell pieces of the events that are listed as NOT SELLING. I am not going to change my mind on any of those.

Also, please do not clutter this thread with trolling or garbage. I will delete any such posts here, and might ban or suspend people if it becomes a problem. This is also not a thread to debate whether I am a good investment and/or the price structure. You are welcome to start separate threads to do so.

I am also listing who has a piece of each event. You will only be listed here if I have received your money. If you have just stated intentions to buy but not actually paid yet, you will not be listed.

If you wish to purchase ALL events I'm selling, it's $158 per share.

List of events (and the people who own shares of each one):

Please note that I might play other events that are not listed above. I will post them in this thread when the time comes.

I will be posting very frequent updates regarding my chip stack, tournament progress, and table conditions on my Twitter account: http://twitter.com/ToddWitteles

I will also be starting a separate thread for each event I play. You can find these threads in this forum: http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/for...eries-of-Poker

Okay, so if I buy 1 share of each the total comes out to $158. If I take 5% off because I was definitely a net loser last year it becomes $158.00 - $7.90= $150.10.

    Is this correct?

    Yes, a 1% across-the-board share is $158.

If you lost at least $158 last year, you can discount the entire $158 in the manner you described above. If you loss less than $158, you can only discount that part 5%.
