looking to by 40-50' flat screen any ideas (not to expensive)

Hey so I woke up this morning and noticed that my 4 year old TV is completely fucked, don't know how it happened, but it needs replacing. I'd like something in the 38-50 inch range and not looking to spend to much money on it since I rarely use it thinking sub 400ish. Not willing to wait in long line for stuff on thanksgiving either. Anyone know of a place online / maybe cyber monday deal? Thanks

Could always get one used. I tried selling my 60" TV (less than 10 months old, good quality) for $400, and couldn't even sell it.

I realize this isn't in your price range - but I tell you what - this is the way to go for the size you are thinking about.

    LG 42" 1080p 120Hz LED Smart TV (42LS5700-UA) - Black

    Link

Trust me - get a smart TV - its a little more expensive - but with built-in wireless and apps, you run Netflix, Hulu Plus, whatever you like on it etc. No need for Boxee box or anything else - its all built-in. Also, plug an antenna into it for free HD local stations. Dump your cable - trust me - dump your cable. You connect it to your Network storage. You can connect anything to the darn thing - and it looks great. Don't worry about 3D. Get this TV!

Consider saving some money by dispensing with a TV stand. Many people find placing the TV directly on the floor provides a perfectly adequate viewing solution.

How much exactly do you want to spend?

You wouldn't believe how cheap even 55 inchers are these days.

TVs are one of the few products where you still get what you pay for. Cheap tvs are going to be shit quality 9 times out of 10. Along the same lines, never buy a tv at Walmart, Sams, or Costco. They sell sub-branded models that are built specifically for them and they will be much lower quality than the same brands at Best Buy. A good 50 inch Sony led will cost at least $1,100.

Thanks guys. Yes I think I will do away with the TV stand, as I want to be a bad ass.

Honestly I only use it to stream stuff off my laptop, I haven't used my actual cable in about 5months and may actually cancel it. (you can stream everything and anything offline, for free...)

I buy 90% of my stuff at Costco. Including electronics. Right when you walk in there are like 500 TVs staring you in the face. I have never spoken to one person in my life that said they got a bad deal at Costco. Give it a try, you'll get the TV you want.

Nah just lazy and to busy with work... I should have cancelled it and put it towards a new flat screen .

Going to try for cyber monday shit, or costco. Honestly, since I won't be using HD (can't stream that shit free) I just want a decent size.

    THanks everyone!

Some of the Viera series Panasonic plasmas are very good tvs. Panasonic bought the Kuro technology from Pioneer in 2009 and it was the industry standard. The biggest problem that the average person will run into with a plasma is the glass screen glaring very badly if you have sunlight or other bright light in the room. Plasmas are made primarily for fully darkened room where their color spectrum and fluidity of motion can be showcased.

One more thing about Costco. You can get a 1/4 hotdog and a coke for less than 2 bucks. I just bought like 50 razors for like 20 bucks.
