I do have dreams about having sex with women I bedded like 25 years ago, its just weird.I try to get as much into the dream as possible, then it usually just cancels and I have to take a piss. Lately I don't even wake up with a boner, getting old sucks. Whatever.

I've had very few dreams in my life where I get to actually have sex.

My mind won't let it happen for some reason. This has been true all my life.

There have been many dreams where I am with a girl and messing around with her (sometimes real, usually fictitious and invented in the dream), and it seems like sex is going to happen, but something always interrupts and stops it.

Funny you should ask this - I just got home from MGM. I usually go there every Friday but not for poker. Ever been to the Red Rose? My best pal and I usually go there for a meal then get free play for the slots and play $20-30 or so and head home.

About 2 1/2 years ago my wife and I reconciled and put the family back together so now I'm in Worcester with her, back in my own house. I've been playing almost exclusively at Chasers in Salem, NH. I just don't care very much for the MGM poker crowd and much prefer the New Hampshire folks.

We did decide today to start playing at the Mohegan on Friday's going forward. Foxwoods can go screw. Its awfully hard to explain to someone who can't relate to what that place was like in the 90's vs. what it is now. It went from the best casino and poker room in all of New England to a dump. There are no good restaurants and the poker room is nothing like what it used to be. The tournament schedule since covid is also totally lame.

I haven't played at Encore Boston since 2019 but that is now the most active room in the area and I do intend to get there soon also.

Drinking a little wine now and headed to bed hoping for a night free of violent dreams.
Nice, Im in belchertown so pretty much stopped going to Foxwoods since MGM opened and yes I concur it has turned into a dump. I always thought it was a pit of misery and despair (especially compared to the younger, more vibrant Mohegan crowd that actually seemed to be enjoying itself) so I can't say I miss it one bit. i dont even think those cheap bastards give out free rooms anymore, the poker room is moved upstairs and usually has 15-20 tables running but Ive only been a handful of times in the last 5 years. I play a couple times a week $1-2 at MGM, yes not the most dignified crowd but the games are extremely soft and profitable so a good way to supplement the income and get some free drinks. Usually stick to weekdays because they have some really good promos, they just did a cool March Madness one where they started with 64 hands and each time one got hit it would get eliminated and the one it was playing would move on, got more profitable as rounds went on, currently only 1 hand left 10 high SF of hearts, when it hits gonna pay $16k

tbf Foxwoods in 2006-2008 was complete and utter madness. The months leading up to the housing meltdown … people had zero regard for money. I was not technically great but the action was so choice I literally moved in and lived there.

It was and probably still is the largest poker room in the world. However, in 2007 you had 120 tables with a waiting list. I sat around for more than an hour quite often. There was no booking online or anything of the sort back then. I can’t do the chaos the justice it deserves

Vanessa Selbst is one of the first people that comes to mind from those days oddly enough.

In 2006 you could still eat chicken tenders with ranch dressing at the tables. There wasn’t a clean chip in the entire establishment. That was living.

When I read your post I suddenly thought, “do I still have my Black Card?” I tossed it not being a particularly nostalgic sort. Shame.

I haven’t been to a New England casino in years and years but something about your post triggered me a little. Foxwoods is a dump as I recall from my last visit. Banned. Really never looked back.

Never had any dreams about Foxwoods either.

Please do more about poker room experiences in 2024. You really are the last guy on PFA to do that sort of thing.

I wish more people would tell us about their exploits too. I find it all pretty interesting. As of this moment Foxwood has 23 tables running. Encore BH also has 23 going. I like to check on these things and more often than not Encore has far more games going. I can't report on Mohegan action except to say that it is a far superior option to Foxwood and its not even close anymore. I'm adding it into the rotation soon.

Anywhere I want to play is at least an hour drive so this limits the number of days I go. When the wife and I were apart and I was living in Orange (Tully) the room in Keene, NH was a short backroad drive that I could do every day. Tomorrow I'll be in Salem, NH. They have $1,200 an hour high hand which brings in a lot of action.

You don't play poker anymore Sanlmar or just not in NE? Games are pretty juicy.

You're in Belchertown? No shit!! I grew up in Petersham and Athol and we'd often go to Amherst to the Hadley mall for some weekend entertainment. My youngest kid goes to school at UMASS Amherst. Small world! Belchertown is a very nice town and MGM is such a short ride for you. I'll make it a point to come to MGM a weekday this week. I'll be wearing a Georgia hat if you're inclined to say hi to me.

Foxwoods still offering me free rooms Monday-Thursday but its not enough to get me to want to go there again.

Yeah, its just getting older. I literally am having sex with a chick when I was 25. I am 50 now, for whatever reason the scene just randomly happens in a random dream. It's not like I want it to happen, it just does, I can never get to the end, I just wake up in a disappointment and take a leak, you want it to materialize but it fades. Another weird dream is when I stole something from a KMART, (yeah they used to exist) and I ripped off a Wrestling magazine. Tommy Rich was on the cover. Who cares.

I wanted to add that after Druff shot the guy, I don’t know how we got back to the states, but he went back to Vegas. This much I know for sure. I don’t know if he gambled there or not. But Druff has connections in Vegas and I don’t.

Notice that even in desertrunner's dream, he was loyal to me and wanting to assist in a very tough situation, even putting himself at risk.

This is what he's like in real life. Speaks a lot to his character, and it's what I've been saying the entire way.

I am interested in mickeycrimm's comments here, regarding my dream, though.

Pretty sure him being in another man's subconscious caused him to stroke out again, may not hear from him until Salvation Army gets a new influx of hand me downs

Definitely a weird dream. The mickeycrimm in the dream is out of character to the real mickeycrimm. Hell, I would have been the first one to beat the shit out of the pisser and calling him a punk ass bitch the whole time. That takes care of the fighting and the insults.

The dude that told you the pisser committed suicide because of your insults is full of shit. The pisser obviously had mental issues or he wouldn't have pissed on everybody. He off'ed himself because he was a wingnut.

The moral of the dream is....IT'S BETTER TO BE PISSED OFF THAN PISSED ON!

I'm glad your pet libtards got a kick out of me being in the dream.

It was weird because usually when people from real life end up in my dreams, they're at least somewhat in character.

While I could actually see some soy libtard trying to make the case that I "caused" the guy to kill himself because I said really mean things after he pissed all over me, you are probably the last person I'd expect to make that case.

To be fair, you weren't the one in the dream accusing me of it being my fault. That was just some random up on the surface with me. You were just in that chasm with your bright yellow lantern, making a speech about how awful I am in general.

Now that I think about it, I've come to realize that it's not just sex and hiking where seemingly good dreams go bad. It's pretty much everything. My subconscious mind won't let me be happy in sleep.

If I am with a pretty girl who likes me, and sex looks likely, something always interrupts the entire situation, or the dream just abruptly ends.

If I am hiking in a beautiful, scenic area, I either get lost, lose track of those I'm with, can't find my car at the end, am blocked in some way from returning to the trailhead, or run into some kind of confrontation/danger.

If I am doing really well at a poker tournament, I go to break and can't find my table again. If I'm coming back from a prior day with a big stack, I can't find my table at all.

If I've inexplicably been given a roster spot on the Dodgers or Lakers, I can't find the place in the stadium where the players need to go, and I miss the game.

If I get tickets to see a Dodgers game, they are so terrible that it's nearly impossible to see the field -- far worse than the actual worst seat in the house.

If I've been given a chance to do a large-audience radio show, I either experience mass technical difficulties, or find myself not knowing what to say.

If I am driving, I have trouble controlling the car, hit stuff on the road (or other cars), and ruin it.

If I'm in a plane, I either end up at the wrong destination, the plane crashes, or we have to make a very scary emergency landing.

If I'm on a nice vacation, a major natural disaster occurs.

The list goes on and on.

    Sad!

Those dreams of helplessness are all anxiety dreams. I used to have them when I was sick. Guys would start fights with me and my arms wouldn’t move. All kinds of shit like you’ve described. Never about the actual illness. Just reoccurring dreams where, in the end, I was powerless to fate.

I’m kind of a control freak who is easily frustrated by what I view as situations where I’m not in control, so illness drove me nuts. You are also from what I’ve observed.

It’s hard to change how you’re wired. I haven’t figured out how to do it. I’m better than I was young, but I still want to grab someone by the neck once a week. For you, it’s other types of conflict you find yourself in.

You need some moderately intense activity. Start slow, but throw yourself into something. It’s what works for me. You are wound pretty tight. I’m similar and it’s easy to see in others. I doubt either of us are going to become zen masters, so find some physical outlet. It truly works better than anything else.
