Saw this tune whilst looking for the heroes clip. Reminds me of beaches and summertime.
Bojibian - No New Bodies
I'd rep you for this post if Druff had a rep system here. Drivin N Cryin' is a criminally underrated band.
I remember when I started the original songs you like thread on DD (well actually Tydepoker and then crossposted), Alpo and I were going back and forth on that first night with his metal and my....well let's just say less than hardcore metal selections. Alpo is a great poster with terrific taste in music, even if it's a little hard for my tastes in my old age.
Anyway I went to college in Ellensburg WA and worked at one of the most beautiful concert venues in the world during the summers, The Gorge in George, Washington. I would work concessions and then be finished in time to see the shows for free. It was a great gig while taking summer courses.
Don Henley played an acoustic version of this song that has stayed with me all these years later, as this was the summer of 1992.
They played the bar that I ran while I was in college quite a few times. They could have been huge but Kevin Kinney was a big time druggie. I remember standing guard at the band dressing room door while he did coke because he was always paranoid about getting caught. He would then go on stage with a bottle of Jim Beam in hand.
That being said, they can still take the stage at any college bar in the southeast and blow the roof off with Straight to Hell. There aren't really any good versions on youtube but here you go.
