The cubs had good at bats vs Miller and I think they will hit Kluber better in game 4.
pitchers pitching on short rest don't fair very well.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...-mlb-playoffs/
I was at the game last night and it was by far the best sporting event I've ever been to. Although, I haven't been to many great sporting events prior to yesterday. The place was absolutely crazy.
And Andrew Miller is God.
(Cubs fans are really cool)
Last night I saw Arrietta vs Bauer. I snap bet the -154
I just can't believe that pinky isn't gonna be an issue. When I pitched the centrifugal force during delivery would often burst the capillaries under my fingernails. You saw that effect last time you saw Bauer. Maybe he doesn't spring another leak but it's gonna hurt or be some kind of issue. When you throw you cannot think about your hand - at all. You start thinking about any of your mechanics and you are cooked. Amen.
Now I know the Indians bullpen is great and deep. Francona is god. However, Bauer gets pulled AFTER the damage is done. There are my runs. Thank you. It is negative EV to expect an Indians reliever to be ready and instantly ON early in a game. We aren't talking about a closer in the 3rd inning. Whole different mentality and skill. I'll take that edge too.
Bauer's pitches are gonna look like beach balls to Cubs hitters after Klubot . Massive edge Arrieta.
The line has moved to -132. So far I am a loser on this. Is this a weather issue? Arrieta's impact is cut short if game is suspended or rain delayed? Perhaps just weather variance diminishing Arrieta's impact.
Arrieta NEVER pitches with sleeves. It's a mental thing. He ain't gonna change it. Pitching in the cold and being cold. Could be a FML thing for me too. Small thing I hope.
I took the over too. Kind of a hedge. Kind of a parlay.
Mobile - Baseball - MLB - 954 Chicago Cubs/Cleveland Indians over 7 -105 for Game
The juice is now up to -135 so I'll score that a win so far.
If the game is over 7 and the moneyline is -150 you can make a math case that you can bet the road favorite run line -1.5 +105 minimum. No edge here but I was a bit tilted having faded Kluber & Miller last night. I had just posted about Mulva's Kluber call in 2014 so I KNEW. Idiot.
Well now it's -1.5 +130 I lose again. I took some more
Mobile - Baseball - MLB - 953 Chicago Cubs -1½ +130 for Game
So I am not loving life with the weather issue. Too much variance but I am stuck and it could hurt.
Playoff games do not get called after 5. They get suspended even if it is top of the 9th. Almost anything can happen.
If this game gets called I won't cry.
If I lose I will have to chalk it up to great entertainment. Been reading about the ratings and ticket prices and general mania surrounding this series.
I was watching the game last night with pals and said this surpasses Sawks in 2004. I get the hate. I said the Sawks thing was somewhat unexpected. The Cubs thing has been building since opening day. The expectation has just been building and building to this crescendo. It was a good bar room argument that I will continue to torture my Sawks buddies with.
Good to see you posting about sports. I remember when you and Lew were relevant. Something about some lost basement sports show podcasts. Is Lew okay? Diet has sapped him of his attitude?
Michigan v Michigan on tap. Enjoy

Michigan State will get gangbanged raped on saturday
beg borrow steal
-18.5 all day, i can't lay 23.5 on the road in a rivalry game.
on paper michigan blows their shit out but thats way to much of a gamble for me @ 23.5
EDIT: however, if you do feel the need to fire on this game you better snap it off now at 23.5 because michigan money will come flooding in the closer we get to this one.

lol @ talking michigan vs michigan state in the mlb playoff thread tho
cant wait til michigan vs ohio state, were gonna fuck up the food porn thread something fierce. Who's got it better than us?
Andrew Miller can be used in back to back days. He's a long reliever and he came up as a starter.
This is the Fall Classic. Pitch counts are irrelevant imo, use em and abuse em.

Kluber set to pitch game 4 and game 7.
So what happens if the game gets rained out today? Play it tomorrow? It is supposed to rain tomorrow also. Do they reschedule the cubs home games then?
MLB should shorten the season bY 10 games Or so. Playing baseball in cleveland and chicago around november isn't the greatest idea I've heard.

Weather could be an issue in some way.
We all know what Arrieta is capable of when he is on his game but his last three starts haven't been so good averaging 5.1in in each. He gave up 13 runs in 16 innings against teams who don't have a DH so which version of him are we going to see tonight?
I just don't see any value in a -154 favorite pitcher on the road in the world series versus a team that is on fire but I hope it works out for you.
As for Michigan -23.5 isn't horrific and it's better then -24 which is a push number that I'd probably still take. It jumped to -21 and -21.5 a few hours after of the opening line.
Besides one game this year against Colorado where Michigan made a few mistakes that lead to points they have embarrassed everyone. Wisconsin played them closely but they are a decent team and the box score tells otherwise how dominated they were in that game.
MSU is having a hard time scoring and will be going three and out the entire game punting away giving Michigan mid field a lot.
This game will be a blood bath. MSU offense is the worst I can rememeber seeing in my entire life playing the best defense in the country. The jury is still out on how good the Wolverines offense is but when your defense is so good that you get the ball at mid field so much you will score a bunch of points unless you are playing another solid defense which isn't MSU.
Normally I hate having to give that many points in a rivalry game too where the heavy favorite is the road team but just watching MSU play this year they are terrible. Michigan is going to want revenge from last seasons screw up ending by the punter and Harbaugh has no problem running the score up is what people keep saying but they have done this playing second and third stringers a majority of the second half in many games this year.
Bet at your own risk but Michigan should dominate these poor souls with ease.
bovada line on the total for the game tonight. 7-140 over 7+120 under
biggest bumhunters on the entire internet
Gut-I do not remember that game. I do remember this one though. Not surprised it happened in Cleveland
1) 1997 World Series, Game 4
Perhaps the most memorable World Series game in terms of how cold it was occurred back on Oct. 22, 1997 in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Florida Marlins played Game 4 against the Cleveland Indians in a winter-like chill. At first pitch, the temperature was 38 degrees with a wind chill of 18 degrees. Snow flurries fell throughout the game and ice patches formed on the infield. This game is officially the coldest World Series game on record. MLB didn't track weather records until the 1970s so it's certainly possible there were colder games prior to the 70s.
Perhaps one of the more interesting facts was that the first two games of this series were played in Miami where the temperatures were in the high 80s throughout the games.
