Granted, I haven't seen much of this great country..
But I have a distinct impression that the bronx is really a different place and gold standard for the ghetto..
First of all, at trailer parks everybody is too busy trying to "get over" on each other or charge people for used kitchen curtains they got from Walmart with interest. There's no sense of community.
I hate middle America white ghettos or white trash . No sense of swag or pride..
Other ghettos are really just preditory animals roaming around. Barely recognizable as human. One more generation of welfare and the only communication possible with that species will be through sign language and flash cards like monkey s in a lab..
The bronx is different
Whether your welfare or working class or middle. We have a certain loyalty to each other.
No body judges or snitches and definitely nobody trying to "get over" on EACHOTHER.
People leave used baby clothes or strollers , shoes and jeans for others just to take. People also leave containers of left overs on corners for the homeless to take..
I have many black , white and spanish friends. In the bronx if a stranger knocks on someone's door and say thrre hungry. 9 out of 10x you will have a plate of rice and beans and perhaps and cold beer handed to you in a plastic bag in a matter of minutes.
Whether economic or social. Every one has ups and downs. We don't judge like that.
No one's jealous when u make it. It's just a kid from the bronx done good..
The bronx is cool.
