Watch some of the nuttier Fox shows and you see ads for gold coins and survival rations. You just don't see these career scammers and grifters in the progressive movement.
You must be unaware of all the Gamergate scammers such as Anita Sarkeesian, who manufacture/exaggerate "harassment" stories (many of which are easily disproven), and make 6 figures per year in donations from guilty SJWs who believe they are helping an oppressed feminist.
Your post is the same type of left wing arrogance which has frustrated me for decades.
Too many progressives are convinced that they are the party of intellect, logic, and common sense, while casting the right winger as either a crazy religious zealot or low-IQ simpleton.
You don't see me coming out here that most right wingers are smart and most left wingers are dumb. I'm not delusional enough to believe that those who agree with me politically are automatically intelligent or sophisticated.
Trust me in that there are a large number of idiots and simpletons in BOTH parties.
Why didn't this scam happen to Hillary or Bernie supporters? Because it didn't. This ONE scammer happened to go after Trump supporters. If this guy were never born, there wouldn't have been any major scams of this sort (to my knowledge). It's not like there were tons of successful Trump-related scams, while all Bernie-related scams fell flat. There was just this one. You can't take one scam and draw silly conclusions that "your" people wouldn't have fallen for it.
You'd be shocked how many left-wing morons on my Facebook share super-obvious hoax stories which "prove" their political point. If you click on these stories, you get an obvious clickbait website. When I break the news to these people that they're sharing a hoax article and are making money for scammers/liars, they get defensive and block me, often accusing me of being a Trump supporter.
It is disappointing to see the more intelligent people on the left engage in such unrealistic arrogance regarding their party, refusing to see the idiots among them, while arrogantly strutting about and mocking only the idiots on the other side.
