the movie was decent...saw it last night

I liked the unique style of cutaway clips and cameo narration at certain points of the movie

(Margo Robbie in the bathtub drinking champagne)

seen several other movies about the housing crash I thought were better...but this one has some serious artistic flair

nothing new to see though really....no cinematic or politically induced revelations about the mortgage crisis

If they had just stuck with the celebrity cut-aways to explain shit I would have been very happy. Reliving the worst of the 80s through a relentless montage of grainy video clips was totally superfluous to the story and dragged me out of the moment relentlessly. I mean, its a 130 minute movie about people who discovered an impending financial crisis and how hard it was to profit off it, it doesnt need to be dynamic.

So I watched the movie and I thought it was pretty good at explaining at least one part of what went wrong. Having not read the book, I can't imagine them not touching on the entire Dodd/Frank shit sandwich that led to the entire market fiasco in the first place. That those two names were not even mentioned, even though they did their best to implicate the governments' complicity, seems like a glaring omission.

Dodd/Frank was "the fix" not the cause.

Normally I'd go on a Hollywood rant about how they conveniently left out how the liberal politics fucked up the entire situation but Bush fully supported the housing boom. The imediate post Lehamn years were LOL watching congress grandstand against Wall Street.

Not sure why you would ever have an interest in this movie. You have no ability to ever own a home, unless of course you inherit one. LOL, those two fucking Oregon cops really kicked the shit out of you.
