    **** OFFICIAL - STAR WARS 7 THREAD ****

So I looked to see what SW thread I could put this in and there's already too many, so we can use this as the catch-all for all things related to The Force.

Toys got released today so let's start there shall we?

How about a Smartphone remote controlled BB-8?

    Legendary Yoda you say?

How's about a 'Global Unboxing'? Here's the 4 hour version. There is a sweet Millennium Falcon mini drone somewhere in there:

My expectations for this movie are small, I just hope it is marginally better than the Star Wars prequels.

Wasn't Star Wars The Force Awakens shot on film?

It was not filmed on a special IMAX camera.

Avatar 2, 3 & 4 are being filmed on IMAX and will be far superior to the new Star Wars movie.

So Kylo, Finn, and Rey all without last names...so whats the story line? Rey and Kylo are twins from Han & leia and then Finn is a bastard lovechild of Luke's is my guess.

I just hope the writers/Disney are smart enough to know the first movie doesn't have to be perfect. The first movie needs to set up the second movie to be perfect.

If you liked what they did with the last 2 Star Trek movies, you'll most likely like the Star Wars movies. If not, hope.. is.. lost.

Kylo is part of a group called the Knights of Ren.

"The Knights of Ren was an organization that existed in the years after the Battle of Endor. Kylo Ren was a member of this group, taking on Ren as a surname as a result."

I'm also keeping my expectations extremely low because it's JJ Abrams, but lol did you suppress your memories of 1-3? Jesus. We can aim a smidge higher

Best way to prepare to see Star Wars VII The Force Awakens is...

    1) Let's pretend that the prequels never existed.

    2) Get Hayden Christensen out of your fucking head.

    3) Re-watch the original trilogy from the beginning.

I hope that J.J. Abrams understands that it was the characters and story that made Star Wars great.

Not sure if 3-D, Real D 3D or Imax 3D will enhance the movie experience.

The only movies that I've seen that were great in IMAX 3D were Avatar and Hugo.

He failed spectacularly at this with the Star Trek films, reducing them to caricatures. He likes lens flares and action schlock. Expect more of the same.

The last three Star Wars movies ranged from terrible to not good.

Yes I did, I was aware but I was never truly into it like I stated..

Even though im a big sci fi/ horror buff, it self evident from many of my t.v. or movie post,s. I never really really got into it but just recognized it quality and innovation....

Now ive come to learn what it truly means and I had it wrong...

Lucas is just another! progressive who is the epitamy of hipocracy to what they want mandated on the rest of u.s and what they are the polar opposite of.... there souless under the guise of campasion and having sympathy...

    Im rooting for vador...

It's pretty straightforward, considering it is a children's movie aimed at people under the age of 15, it just found a broader audience than he ever could have expected. It's just really the story of Hitlers rise to power (The Emperor) and the difference between Democracy and Theocratic Dictatorship. I mean, to agree with you on some level, the way I would rule a country / planet / galaxy, would be far different than the way I would wish to be ruled in the same places.

I still remember seeing Empire at a drive in when I was like 3 years old. Also remember seeing Jedi opening weekend and felt like it would feel hitting mega millions. The kids should love it!
